True Classic x Fuego

There are many household names in the DTC space. But not many can compete with what True Classic accomplished in just five short years.

Ryan Bartlett and Matt Winnick started with just $3,000 and a powerful mission; to help the everyday guy look good and feel good in a t-shirt that fits right at an accessible price.

In their first month they sold $20,000 worth of product. Within two years this turned into $100mn in Annual Revenue. And remarkably they achieved all of this as a fully bootstrapped company, becoming the poster-child of D2C in the meantime.

The Challenge

True Classic have grown to become one of the most recognisable t-shirt brands in the US, but in order to increase LTV they needed a new way to reach consumers with leisurewear and accessories outside of their flagship product - essentially they wanted to build out a long-term retention strategy with their mobile app as one of the cornerstones. 

The Solution

Previously, True Classic had built out their mobile strategy with Tapcart. But for a host of reasons they wanted to make a change to a more flexible and affordable partner.

The Results

True Classic customers aren’t sleeping on the brand's mobile app.

Since launching, they’ve had more than 250,000 installs, with 4.8 star ratings across both stores.  

The app has a 200% higher conversion rate (CVR) than their website, with an 11% higher AOV vs mobile web. Impressively, their app user retention sits at 91.5%, giving True Classic a low-cost additional channel to consistently engage with and convert their most loyal customers.
